Linda McDonald Congratulated on Honour at Parliament

Mike Pringle MSP has submitted a motion to the Scottish Parliament congratulating Linda McDonald from charity Malawi Underprivileged Mothers (MUMs) on being awarded the William Y Darling Edinburgh Citizen of the Year Award. The motion has attracted cross party support in praise of the Edinburgh midwife.

The award came after her outstanding work in raising over £125 000 for the prevention of mother to sibling HIV infection and a new maternity unit at the Bwaila Hospital in Lilongwe, Malawi.

Mike Pringle said

"Linda's work for underprivileged mothers in Malawi and the Bwaila hospital in particular has been nothing short of inspirational.

"She thoroughly deserves this reward and I wish her every success in the future."
