Pringle Issues Sick Kids Warning

4.08.51pm UTC (GMT +0000) Fri 15th Feb 2008

Having welcomed the recent Government Neurology Report that recommends neurological services are retained at the Sick Kids Mike Pringle, MSP for Edinburgh South, has issued a warning to Edinburgh residents and the Government over Cancer care services, calling for confirmation that they will also be retained.

Mike Pringle MSP said

"Although the fact that the experts recommend that neurological services are retained in Edinburgh is obviously welcome news there has been no definitive word yet over cancer care services.

"As the two fields are so closely linked it is vital that Cancer services are also retained at the Sick Kids.

"Until we have word from the Government nothing can be taken for granted."
