12.18.00pm UTC (GMT +0000) Wed 12th Dec 2007

Mike Pringle joined students and carol singers from Edinburgh University outside parliament last week to protest at what they perceive to be a real terms Scottish Government cut in funding for higher education.

Mike Pringle said

"This funding cut is totally unacceptable. Scotland's young people are its future and it's vital that we invest in higher education to maintain and improve the high standards currently set by our University's. I urge the government to think again about its priorities, Scotland's students should not have to put up with this raw deal."
